- The Arapaho Roosevelt National Forest is seeking interested contractors for a commercial for an Integrated Resource Stewardship, in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 as revised, with requirements for timber removal under Full and Open Competition. This acquisition has been tailored to fit the Government's method of trading goods for services. It will entail both a timbersale for the sale of approximately 2,2230 CCF of Lodgepole Pine & other conifer saw timber (trees) Live/Dead, 3,162 CCF of Ponderosa Pine saw timber (trees) Live/Dead for exchange of service work for 223 acres of fuels treatment. The Deadhorse Pratt Stewardship Project is located on the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Roosevelt National Forest encompassing the area indicated on the Project Area Map (which includes the Contract Area Map). Land management objectives for the project area include: • Improve Forest Health - Provide growing space for healthy trees and reduce fuel loadings • Utilize Timber or other products - Provide wood resource to forest product industry. To accomplish these objectives, the contract includes the following components: stand clearing/thinning, mechanical fuels reduction, snag and down wood management, piling of fuels and removal of timber or other products. The Government is planning a pre-bid/pre-proposal conference, during which potential Offerors may obtain a better understanding of the work required. The conference and site visit is not mandatory.
