- THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS A SYNOPSIS (SUMMARY). THE SOLICITATION PERTAINING TO THIS NOTICE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THIS NOTICE. Army Contracting Command-Redstone has a requirement for the acquisition of: • Four (4) fabrications of A/N720 CMC base rings consisting of two (2) base attachment rings and two (2) base insulation rings This requirement will be solicited as a sole source requirement to COI Ceramics, Inc., 7130 Miramar Road, Suite 100B, San Diego, CA 92121. COI Ceramics, Inc. is the only company that has the capability to fabricate the proprietary A/N720 base rings material that meet the AMRDEC TPS requirements for the Navy FE-1 flight assembly. Comparable products do not meet all of the specification requirements including interfaces that are compatible with existing government hardware. As a result, COI Ceramics, Inc. is the only qualified vendor capable of meeting the Government requirement. Solicitation number W31P4Q-16-Q-0114 is to be a firm fixed price acquisition, in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1 (b) (1). The corresponding NAICS code for this procurement is 336419. CLIN 0001 will be issued for Four (4) fabrications of A/N720 CMC base rings. CLIN 0002 will be issued for Freight and Shipping. All responsible concerns may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Contract award is anticipated on or about 14 September 2016.
