AMENDMENT 000001 IS HEREBY ISSUED TO REFLECT THE FOLLOWING: Q. General - How many camp sites will there actually be 16 or 17? A. Seventeen (17) campsites, one with water hookups only. The remaining 16 will have both electrical and water hookups. Q. Electrical - The new campground will require a 350 amp single phase service. Is the successful contractor responsible for compensating the electric company for any costs, that they may be charged for this new service? A. Yes the successful contractor is responsible for compensating the electric company for any costs that they may been charged for this new service? Q. Electrical - The new service will have to be fed from across the highway. Will BLM obtain the road crossing permit and easements? A. Contractor is responsible for obtaining the permit for the new service across the highway. The BLM shall obtain easement for the road crossing. Q. Electrical - The specifications do not mention that PVC electrical conduit is acceptable. Will PVC conduit be allowed? A. Contractor to use the type of conduit that meets the requirements of the most recent NEC code as well as all state and local codes. Q. Electrical - Many campgrounds use aluminum underground conductors to save on the cost. Does BLM want copper or aluminum conductors? A. Copper conductors is required by the BLM. Q. Electrical - The existing soil seems to have enough sand to use as bedding material for the electrical conduits. Will this be acceptable? A. Sand from the existing soils may be used for bedding material. Reference the specifications for the sizing and bedding material requirements prior to removal. Contractor shall be responsible for providing gradation testing to ensure material "sand" being used from the existing soils meets the specifications. Q. Electrical - Spec Section 02545-3 discusses an audible high water alarm system in the tank. Does this need electrical power? A. Per Section 02545-3 audible high water alarm system in tank shall be an alarm that does not require electrical power. Q. Electrical - Would it be acceptable to receive power company service at 480 volt and add a step-down transformer? This would likely save some costs. A. Yes, 480 volt is acceptable power service to include a step-down transformer. Q. Electrical - Would it be acceptable to install a distribution panel in the center area of the campsites? This would help alleviate some of the voltage drops and will save some money. A. Yes, a distribution panel is acceptable for installation within the new campsites to help alleviate some of the voltage drops.
