Description

Brand Name or Equal Purchase Description: Histology Embedding Center System INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND The Anatomic Pathology Laboratory located in the John D. Dingell VAS Medical Center, Detroit, MI (JDDVAMC) is pursuing the acquisition of a Sakura Tissue-Tek TEC 5 Model 5100 or equivalent Embedding Center System. The goal of this acquisition is to replace a defective and unrepairable embedding center and thus restore and insure the level of histology service our veterans deserve. SCOPE OF WORK OPERATIONAL FEATURES The instrumentation shall have the following critical features to be considered an equal to the Sakura Tissue-Tek TEC 5 Model 5100 "Modular system (separate cooling and embedding components) "Overall size of system (both components/modules) (H x W x D) where ¦ H = 12-16" W = 34-36" D = 22-24" H D W "Cold plate must hold a minimum of 60 blocks. "Automatic programmable start-up/shutdown "Front forceps warming well location "Key pad or Touch screen user interface (NOT "membrane" touch pad) "Warming compartments for processed cassettes (H x W x D) is minimum 2" x 7" x 10"
