Description

SPECIAL NOTICE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Detroit MI, 48201 is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for emergency and non-emergency repairs, maintenance and upgrades to the Varian Truebeam linear accelerator system at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, 4646 John R. Street, Detroit, MI 48201. NAICS Code 811219, size standard $20.5 million. The Government intends, in accordance with FAR 6.302.1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements), to negotiate on a sole source basis with Varian Medical Systems (3100 Hansen Way, Palo Alto, CA 94304), for this procurement due to the proprietary nature of the hardware, software, and firmware of this system. The Contractor shall provide all parts, labor, equipment, materials, supervision, necessary to service a Varian True Beam (SN: H191582) & sub equipment, attachments, and software equipment located at Veterans Health Administration, John Dingell VA Medical Center 4646 John R St. Detroit, MI 48201, for the period of Date of Award through 9/30/2017 in strict accordance with the statement of work, all schedules, and terms and conditions of the resultant contract. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received NLT 3:30 EST on 8/31/2016. No telephonic inquiries or e-mail responses will be accepted. All responses must be mailed to VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, 2215 Fuller Rd. (54C), Attn: Kelly Poole, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
