Description

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in support of the Laboratory of Immunogenetics intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition the purchase of an adaptive optics device called the MicAO from Imagine Optics, 50 Milk Street, Boston, MA 02109. The MicAO is the only known adaptive optics device on the market that can increase photon yield by optically correcting the point spread function of the microscope and is the only device that can create an astigmatism using a deformable mirror device (DMD) to allow for 3D super-resolution STORM imaging. This equipment will to improve photon throughput to enhance the detection capacity of the system by 30% and perform 3D super-resolution STORM imaging to study structures at the nano-scale inside the cell. This is not a request for proposal. All responsible sources may submit a response with their capabilities to provide the same or similar equipment that will be considered. The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether to this requirement is available for competition. All responses shall be submitted no later than August 1, 2016 at 4:00 PM eastern standard time to Pamela.Nevels@nih.gov.
