- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with AWC, Inc. for electrodes and universal dual analyzers for a tank experiment research project for the NOAA Atlantic Oceanographic & Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) located in Miami, FL. A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on July 22, 2016 and closed on August 1, 2016. No responses were received. Justification for Sole Source The mass flow controllers are manufactured solely by AWC Inc. located in Baton Rouge, LA and is the only source of these items based on their Their electrodes have the level of accuracy (.001 stability & 0.005/mo) which will allow NOAA/OAR to accurately measure pH and help maintain experimental tank treatments of high and low pH. Other technical requirements of the electrode include: 1” diameter electrode, an operating range of 0-14 pH, temperature range of -10 to 110 degree Celsius, a maximum pressure of 50 psig at 100 degrees Celsius and 100 psig at 50 degrees Celsius, 0.5 lb. automatic temperature compensation and vario pin cable connection that is only compatible with the 20 foot adapter cables that connect the electrodes to the universal dual analyzers (UDA 2182).
