Notice Type:Posted Date: Intent to Award a Sole SourceAugust 29, 2016 Original Set Aside:Response Date: Open Market-Sole SourceSeptember 1, 2016 @ 4:00 p.m. Classification Code:NAICS Code: N063 - Installation of Equipment 561621 - Security System Services Alarm, Signal, and Security Detection System(except Locksmith) Synopsis: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7; hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source firm fixed price contract pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements, to: TYCO INTEGRATED SECURITY 3601 EISENHOWER AVE ALEXANDRIA, VA 22304 This requirement will consist of the installation of a Lock Down System to be integrated into a current PAC System already installed. The Lock Down System must be manual, cannot be incorporated utilizing a software program. Multiple push buttons for different buildings to lock down during emergency with additional buttons to unlock certain sections within that building for egression is required. This system will incorporate the entire facility. New buttons will be placed either on a panel or under the desk location and must be labeled by building and location. There are currently 65 mag locked doors. The current software system is CCURE 9000; this system covers the card reader system authorizing personnel to enter a particular door. This system also connects to the PIV and CCTV systems which cannot be disrupted or disconnected. This requires significant programming time to integrate the new Lock Down/Release System into the software system being utilized as well as install manual buttons. Technicians must be trained and/or be familiar with the system to ensure proper integration occurs. NO SOLICITATION WILL BE FORTHCOMING; THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered.
