- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought publication only. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this RFI. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Response to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS), is seeking contractual services of Board Eligible/Board Certified Clinical Perfusionists (CCP) to provide clinical perfusion services coverage to eligible veteran beneficiaries of the MVAHCS. Perfusionist services are required on-site daily, Monday through Friday, for an estimated 63 hours per week at the VHA Minneapolis HCS, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. On-call coverage is required for an estimated 125.5 hours every four weeks. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the Minneapolis VA Health Care Systems. Services to be provided include: The MVAHCS Cardiovascular Surgery Service performs an average of two cardiac bypass cases daily, Monday-Friday, averaging 325 cases per year. The MVAHCS requires the services of experienced, practicing Clinical Perfusionists to provide direct patient care for the management of physiological and metabolic needs of surgical patients during cardiovascular surgical procedures including coronary by-pass; extracorporeal support functions; heart failure therapy and support; blood management; other clinical perfusion procedures as required; and on-call coverage. It is estimated that contractor's clinical perfusion services will be required for an estimated 3,276 hours of on-site services per year, and an estimated 1,632 hours of on-call coverage per year. Services are required for a 12 month base period with four 12-month option periods. Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621111, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to any corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal.
