- Description
- This requirement supports the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Strategic Technology Office (STO) Communications in Contested Environments (C2E) program. L3 Communications supports the C2E program through the porting of the Bandwidth Efficient Common Data Link (BE-CDL) waveform onto the C2E hardware and the development of advanced anti-jamming (AJ) capabilities within the BE-CDL waveform. This contract modification includes the introduction of two (2) tasks in the basic contract, tasks 4.0 and 5.0, which include enhancements to the BE-CDL waveform and C2E software development. In particular, L3 will enhance the BE-CDL waveform to allow for simultaneous operation with Link 16. This will involve the development of software that adds additional Digital Signal Processor (DSP) techniques such that BE-CDL can operate at the same frequency as other legacy waveforms such as Link 16. L3 will conduct a performance analysis of the BE-CDL waveform on new C2E hardware to support C2E performance improvements. This will also provide direct support of DSP library and Common Hardware Interface Library (CHIL) development of waveform blocks. L3 will demonstrate the BE-CDL enhancements showing simultaneous operation with Link 16 plus documentation of applications and limitations. L3 will enhance the existing C2E software to allow continued waveform and application development with continued common methodology improvements. This effort will also allow for analysis of system performance and integration of hardware accelerators and include a new deliverable of Asymmetric Multi-Processing Library (AMPLib) software drops every 1.5 months. Lastly, L3 will integrate formal method tools into the C2E waveform methodology and software framework.
