Description
Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals, the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA James J. Peters VA medical center is currently conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of providing "(Life Safety for Hudson Valley VA Medical Center)" The vendor will be responsible for, but not limited to: Background: As a follow-up to our TJC/CMS national contract visit, VA Hudson Valley Health Care System (HVHCS) is requesting an additional 2-day consultative assessment with the focus on Environment of Care and Life Safety. A healthcare consulting company specializing in Joint Commission standards compliance and survey readiness is needed. Objectives: To conduct an Environment of Care and Life Safety assessment and provide recommendations to improve the organization's compliance with Joint Commission Environment of Care standards and the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101), 2015 edition. Recommendations will be acted upon by VA HVHCS staff to increase TJC continuous readiness/compliance. Period of Performance: The performance period is 2 consecutive days in Oct 2016 Place of Performance: This consultative assessment will be performed on-site at VA HVHCS - 1 day at the FDR Montrose campus and 1 day at the Castle Point Campus accompanied by Engineering Service staff. Scope or Tasks (for services) / Product Specifications (for supplies): To assess the organization's compliance as it relates to: Environment of Care and Life Safety Management Plans, Statement of Conditions (SOC) - Basic Building Information, Life Safety Assessment and Plans for Improvement, SOC policy, Life Safety assessments, Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) assessments resulting from Plans for Improvements (PFI), Fire drill reports, Inspection, testing, and maintenance of emergency power systems, Generator testing logs and load test results, Battery light test logs, Uninterruptible Power Supply testing, Medical gas and vacuum system test results, Fire safety equipment and fire safety building feature testing, inspection and maintenance, Supervisory signal devices, Valve tamper switched, Water flow devices, Fire/smoke detection - duct detectors, electromechanical releasing devices, heat detectors, manual fire alarm boxes, and smoke detectors, Visual and audible fire alarms, Extinguishing systems, Smoke/fire dampers, Horizontal/vertical fire doors, Fire alarm equipment for notifying off-site fire responders, Fire pumps, as applicable, Main drains, Fire department water supply connections, Standpipe systems, Automatic kitchen fire-extinguishing systems, Carbon dioxide and other gaseous automatic fire-extinguishing systems, Portable fire extinguishers, Standpipe occupant hoses, Fire and smoke dampers, Automatic smoke-detection shutdown devices for air-handling equipment, Sliding and rolling fire doors. Staff education will be provided as needed and/or as time permits. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 541618. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses to this notice should include company/individual name, a service capability statement, examples of similar facilities for which you have provided services to, DUNS number, address, point of contact and social-economic category (ex: SBVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, EDWOSB, Small Business). If your firm is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned or Veteran Owned Small Business, you must be CERTIFIED in VetBiz (see internet site: http://vip.vetbiz.gov). Contractor must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM), formerly CCR (see internet site: http://www.sam.gov).
