Description

NOTICE OF INTENT The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, intends to award a sole-source contract to Boston Scientific. 300 Boston Scientific Way, Marlborough MA 01752 for the following project consisting of equipment Maintenance: This contract action is for equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) as a brand name acquisition. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation for offers. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, sufficient to determine capability in providing the brand name equipment to Sebastian Anderson, Contract Specialist, at Sebastian.anderson@va.gov by August 31, 2016, no later than 16:30 pm EST. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811219 with a Size Standard of 20.5 Million dollar. This is for informational purposes only and not to be construed as a commitment by the government. Any information submitted to this notice of intent is voluntary. Statement of work (1)PURPOSE: Annual PMI on the Possis Angiojet Ablation System S/N U2362 EE#49500 to be performed by Boston Scientific. (2)SCOPE of WORK: Vendor will perform verification, recalibration per factory specs, software updates, inspection and safety testing. EPM certified parts replacement if required. (3)PERIOD and PLACE of PERFORMANCE: Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center 2D241-801 (Special Procedures-Imaging) (4)BACKGROUND: This device must be serviced by the OEM on an annual basis. (5)PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES: Ensure Angiojet is performing to manufacturers specifications. (6)OPERATING CONSTRAINTS: PMI is to be completed as soon as possible to prevent delays in patient care.
