Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs, Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1201 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond, VA 23249 intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order under authority of FAR 6.302-1, Other than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition procedures to Buffalo Supply, 1650A Coal Creek Drive, Lafayette, CO 80026. This requirement is to provide INTEGRA LIFESCIENCES CUSA EXCEL PLUS ULTRASONIC TISSUE ABILATION SURGICAL SYSTEM, the only system with ultrasound and monopolar cautery. This allows neuro surgeons to remove tumor and control bleeding with one instrument thru fragmentation and cauterization. The excel tissue select is a safety feature that slows down the rate of fragmentation when near a nerve or blood vessel, which is critical for neuro surgery. The CUSA excel also has tissue release function which helps prevent inadvertent traction on sensitive tissue. The Integra Lifesciences CUSA excel is an exact match to Richmond's existing system. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 339112. The size standard is 1000 employees. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however firms with expressed interest and capability are encouraged to respond by September 8, 2016. This notice is for informational purposes only. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
