Description
SOURCES SOUGHT HOOD AND DUCT MAINTENANCE SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, IL This is a request for information only. This is not a request for quote/proposal and there is no solicitation package available at this time. The United States Air Force, 375 Contracting Squadron, Scott Air Force Base, IL is seeking sources to provide hood and duct maintenance for 17 buildings. Scott Air Force Base is conducting market research to determine the availability of businesses capable of providing hood and duct maintenance service to the buildings located at Scott Air Force Base. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561790 and the business size is $7.5M. Description of Service The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to accomplish the following: The contactor shall provide all materials, supplies, equipment, and transportation needed to clean hood and duct systems. The contractor will remove accumulated grease, dust, lint, and dirt from the hoods, ducts, fans, and equipment. Utilizing flammable solvents or other flammable cleaning aids shall not be used. Performance Requirements Hoods, grease removal devices, fans, ducts, and other appurtenances shall be cleaned at frequent intervals prior to surfaces becoming heavily contaminated with grease or oily sludge. After cleaning the exhaust system of the heavily contaminated grease/oily sludge, it shall not be coated with powder or other substance. The entire exhaust system shall be inspected at frequencies determined by the type or volume of use not to exceed six months. An operational inspection will be accomplished by fire protection personnel following each cleaning. The absence of the inspector will not relieve the contractor from strict compliance of these specifications. Contractor shall not install hood filters or remove roof access ladders until instructed to do so by the inspector. A certificate of cleaning shall be placed within the kitchen indicating the date cleaned and the name of the servicing company. Areas not cleaned shall also be noted. Qualifications All work performed shall meet and be in compliance with the public health and base fire department requirements, as well as all National standards. Exhaust systems shall be cleaned by a properly trained, qualified and certified person(s). All persons performing commercial cooking cleaning must be certified IAW National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 96, Ventilation Control and Fire protection of Commercial Cooking Operations, 2014 Edition standards. Contract Type 375 Contracting Squadron is anticipating a performance based, firm fixed price contract. The duration of the contract would be one (1) year.
