Description

This is a Sources Sought Notice representing a market survey and is not a request for proposals, proposal abstracts, quotations or invitation for bids. This is a request for information only. The Department of Veteran Affairs is considering purchasing water softener system. STATEMENT OF WORK Water Softener System for Sterile Processing Purpose: The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision and all other services and appurtenances required to furnish and install a complete and functional Water Softener System Treatment System for the Medical Center's Sterile Processing Department in accordance with the specifications and requirements outline herein. Location of Work: VA Medical Center 1111 East End Boulevard Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711. Description of Work: Vendor shall provide the following: Provide and install a complete and function Water Softener System to produce water with low hardness (CaCO3) for use in RO System prior to sterile processing of reusable medical equipment. The system shall meet the following specifications: "Capable of producing more than 2,000 gallons per day (GPD) of treated water "Processed softened water to have less than 10.0 ppm of CaCO3, Ca and Mg "Self-cleaning "Water storage tank to support water draw in to RO system; max RO flow rate is 30gpm "Integrated demand pump; "Low water and low feed alarms; "Carbon filter for feed water; and, "Complete integrated system designed, manufactured and modular product from a company specializing in medical grade Water Softener System water treatment. "Operates at feed water pressure of minimum 20 psi; "Operates on 120-volt maximum 20-amp circuit; "Output volume no less than 20 gallon per minute (gpm); "Must fit in a space no larger than 7'-long x 4'-wide x 7'-tall; "Includes all piping and valving required to attached RO System, potable feed water and discharge to drain. "Capable of treating water with hardness levels equal to or less than 1,500 mg/l as NaCl. "Contractor to provide 3 hour in person training session along with operator manuals Basis of Design: Series of Fleck 2850 SXT single metered softeners, multiplexed as needed to meet requirements based on RO system and available potable water or approved equal.
