- SOLICITATION NUMBER: HHS-NIH-NIDA-SSSA-SBSS-2016-758 TITLE: StealthStation S7 Neuronavigation System Accessories INTRODUCTION This is a Small Business Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources; (2) whether they are small businesses; HUBZone small businesses; service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; and (3) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. An organization that is not considered a small business under the applicable NAICS code 339113 should not submit a response to this notice. This notice is issued to help determine the availability of qualified companies technically capable of meeting the Government requirement and to determine the method of acquisition. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals or quotes. No award will be made as a result of this notice. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by the respondents to this notice. This notice is strictly for research and information purposes only. Project Background: The Division of Intramural Research (DIR), National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), conducting research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of neurological disorders and stroke. The NINDS mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the brain and nervous system and to use that knowledge to reduce the burden of neurological disease. The NINDS Surgical Neurology Branch (SNB) studies primary brain tumors, pituitary tumors, syringomyelia, drug delivery to the central nervous system, development of surgical technology/techniques, cell death in neurologic disorders and functional neurosurgery. SBU SNB provides diagnostic services for the Clinical Center to support and evaluate on-going medical care and research activities. The SNB currently owns an intraoperative neuronavigation system, specifically a Medtronic StealthStation S7 Neuronavigation System. As part of ongoing efforts to improve the safety and accuracy of surgical resections, additional instruments are required for the existing StealthStation S7 Neuronavigation System. The StealthStation S7 Neuronavigation System microscope probe and attachment, when used with a Carl Zeiss Pentero microscope, allow for rapid assessment and 3D tracking of multiple brain location points. Both instruments prevent the need to move the microscope in and out of the field while interrogating various locations, making surgery more efficient and safer for patients. Also, the Suretrak II System ensures all standard surgical instruments can be used during surgery with the StealthStation S7 Neuronavigation. surgery. Purpose and Objectives: The purpose of this acquisition is to provide the NINDS Surgical Neurology Branch (SNB) with additional instruments compatible with an existing StealthStation S7 Neuronavigation System that is used for neuronavigation intracranial procedures. To ensure standardization of data and integrity of existing equipment. Specifically the following surgical navigation equipment is needed: 1.One (1) Interface KIT Carl Zeiss Pentero Heads Up Display S7 2.One (1) Microscope Probe 3.One (1) Suretrak II Passive Instrument Set 4.Delivery and Installation 5.One (1) Year Warranty. Period of Performance: 3 weeks ARO CAPABILITY STATEMENT Contractors that believe they possess the ability to provide the required equipment should submit documentation of their ability to meet each of the project requirements to the Contract Specialist. Contractors should also provide their Company Name, DUNS number, Physical Address, and Point of Contact Information. Interested organizations are required to identify their type of business, applicable North American Industry Classification System Code, and size standards in accordance with the Small Business Administration. The government requests that no proprietary or confidential business data be submitted in a response to this notice. However, responses that indicate the information therein is proprietary will be properly safeguarded for Government use only. Capability statements must include the name and telephone number of a point of contact having authority and knowledge to discuss responses with Government representatives. Capability statements in response to this market survey that do not provide sufficient information for evaluation will be considered non-responsive. When submitting this information, please reference the solicitation notice number. All capability statements sent in response to this Small Business Sources Sought Notice must be submitted electronically (via email) to Andrea McGee, Contract Specialist @ andrea.mcgee@nih.gov. on or before September 6, 2016 12:00 p.m. eastern time. The response must in in Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF format using 11-point or 12-point font, 8-1/2" x 11" paper size, with 1" top, bottom, left and right margins, and with single or double spacing. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate.
