Description
Tele-monitoring for Infectious Diseases: A Remote System for Assessing Patient Parameters and Specimen Analysis that intends to develop an easy-to-use and low-cost screening assay for POC use and remote monitoring of IFI by using the widely available blood glucose meter (BGM) for measurement. The Phase I project will demonstrate feasibility by accomplishing three tasks: 1) Express a protein fragment indicative of IFI, 2) Use the expressed protein fragment to construct an ELISA-like assay using BGM for signal quantification and 3) validate the developed assay against a reference method. By completing the development and validation of the BGM based assay for the IFI test for tele-monitoring of immunosuppressant drug levels in transplant patients.
