Description

Notice of Intent to Issue Sole Source The Contractor shall develop, test and deliver a non-pitch adapting composite propeller design and manufacturing approach for a full-scale submarine. The Contractor shall deliver a full package of drawings and technical specifications to enable technical authorities to certify the propeller as acceptable for installation on a full-class submarine. Further, the Contractor shall fabricate a propeller hub/blade assembly consisting of composite propeller blades and a nickel-aluminum-bronze alloy hub machined to enable insertion of the blades to create a full-scale propeller for demonstration on a full-class submarine. The Contractor shall provide some technical advice as requested by the U.S. Navy for the installation of the hub/blade assembly on a full-scale submarine.
