- Description
- The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), intends to issue a sole source Request for Proposal (RFP) to New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), University Heights, Newark, New Jersey, 07102 for the Development, Characterization, Engineering and Testing (DCET) of Advanced Materials, Processes and Technologies. This sole source RFP is in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii) applies when the agency's need for Department of Defense services may be deemed available only from the original source in the case of follow-on contract for the continued provision of highly specialized services when it is likely that award to any other source should result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency requirement. The respective Justification and Approval was approved 22 August 2016. The resultant contract shall be awarded as five (5) year, Firm-Fixed Price/Cost Reimbursement Hybrid, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract. The maximum contract ceiling value is $49,850,000. The applicable NAICS for this effort is: 541712 "Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology)". The contractor shall provide highly specialized research and development engineering and technical support for the development, demonstration, and transition of innovative technology solutions to assist the Warfighter throughout weapon system life-cycles and the advancement of materials, devices, and processes to meet current and future Department of Defense objectives.
