Description
NASA- JSC has a requirement for a prototype grade integrated circuits of a low power radiation hard microprocessors. The Advanced Spacesuit project is prototyping a next generation Portable Life Support System and is need of a low power radiation hardened microprocessor. These microprocessors will allow for ongoing testing that is required for the next generation Portable Life Support System (PLSS). NASA-JSC intends to purchase these microprocessors from Cobham Semiconductor Solutions. The industry was surveyed for low power radiation hardened microprocessors and Cobham Semiconductor Solutions was found to be the best fit to project requirements of radiation tolerance, processing power, power dissipation, functionality and on-board peripherals. Cobham Semiconductor Solutions only sells this part directly and does not go through distributors The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time September 9, 2016.
