- Request for information This is a sources sought announcement for market research purposes. It is not a request for quote or proposals. Background DLA Disposition Services is responsible for the disposal of excess DOD personal property. We are seeking to identify responsible potential sources and obtain information from possible sources who can provide a mobile shredding capability, or other capability, that can mobilize as needed to DLA Disposition Service Sites in the Continental United States (CONUS) or any DOD site serviced by those offices. Disposition Services CONUS locations can be found at http://www.dla.mil/dispositionServices/ under Helpful Links. This capability must be able to completely destroy the following items: Commodities include but are not limited to: •· SAPI plates and other Body Armor •· Plastics •· Light metal •· Battle Dress Uniforms / Clothing •· Camo Netting •· Vehicle parts •· Aircraft parts •· Gun parts to include small items •· Paper products •· Ballistic glass The onsite timeframe requirement could range from 5-15 business days and the process is required to completely destroy material that will result in destruction of the item to prevent reuse, recognition or reconstruction of the item to the satisfaction of the government appointed verifier. Throughput requirements will depend on commodity. It is requested that potential sources submit information on the capabilities to perform the services described above. This should include: •· Detailed description of products that will be used for demilitarization •· Size limitations on products used for demilitarization •· Organizational capabilities, how many locations could be supported simultaneously
