- SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Product: Electric Desks Quantity: 6 EACH Color/Style:dove gray with vinyl edge black or brown Salient Characteristics: Provide quantity (6 EA) 30"d x60"electric desks that meet the physical dimensions of the new directive for cubicle size (56 sq ft). Desk units shall not be 'handed'. Desks shall be height adjustable between the range of 22"-48" via an electric 'T-leg' base. The electric operating switch shall be embedded in the desk and flush with the desktop. The desks shall have the ability to be free standing. Desk 'legs' shall be made of steel and powder coated with color 'white aluminum'. Worksurface shall be finished in laminate, color 'gray to match existing VA furnishings facility-wide. There shall be no grommet in the worksurface top. Additional characteristics include: "Desktops (work surfaces) shall be made of 100% recycled industrial by-product certified wood: wood fibers from the 'Forest Stewardship Council' certified suppliers "Adhesive(s) used on the furniture shall be nontoxic and water based and shall not emit VOCs. "Steel components shall be comprised of 100% recycled materials and be 100% recyclable at the end of their useful life. "Custom foot to be constructed to extend 3" beyond the wall edge of the desk see drawing "Control switch to mount under the front edge "Vinyl T molding edge Environmental Profile: The furniture shall contribute to LEED credits for Construction Waste Management, Recycled Content, Rapidly Renewable Materials, Optimized Use of Alternative Materials, Certified Wood, Low Emitting Materials and Local/Regional Materials per Presidential Executive Order 13514 which requires Federal buildings meet the construction standard of LEED silver.
