- Description
- U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) with Vortex Systems LLC, 116 Broadbrook Rd., Enfield CT 06082-5303. The Vortex GS systems have a proprietary design owned, manufactured, and assembled by Vortex Systems, LLC. As Vortex Systems, LLC is the sole manufacturer of the system, they are the only entity that possess the proprietary system components needed to maintain the system equipment already in use by CBP along the Southern Border. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334515, Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electric. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with Vortex LLC. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all parties who identify their interest and capability to satisfy this requirement will be considered. No solicitation will be issued, therefore, all requests for the solicitation will be considered non-responsive. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. All interested parties must express their interest and capabilities in writing via e-mail to brice.winston@dhs.gov prior to the closing date of this notice. An award shall be made to Vortex LLC. The anticipated award date is September 16, 2016.
