- PWAS-DESCRIPTION PWAS-CONTRACTOR CAPABILITY SURVEY C-130H Aircraft Pilot Warning Alarm Set Request for Information (RFI) PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION The Government is conducting market research via this RFI to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for repair of the Pilot Warning Alarm Set. Maintenance to be performed includes teardown, analysis, overhaul, repair, testing, and procurement of spare components, packaging, handling, storage, transportation, as well as data collection, engineering support and services. The item to be repaired is Pilot Warning Alarm Set. This acquisition will benefit the USAF, Air Force Reserve Command and Air National Guard by increasing readiness of the C-130H fleet. Our acquisition strategy is a five-year contract (basic plus four option years). The projected quantities will be a BEQ of: NSN 6340-01-394-9780LG Pilot Warning Alarm Set QTY Basic 4 Option 1 4 Option 2 4 Option 3 4 Option 4 4 FAR 52.215-3 - Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in sub-section 31.205-18. Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although "proposal" and "offeror" are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of: Identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for repair of the C-130H Aircraft Pilot Warning Alarm Set. C-130H Aircraft Pilot Warning Alarm Set Function Descriptions Pilot Warning Alarm Set - NSN 6340-01-394-9780LG, P/N 540-25100-005. The Pilot Warning Alarm Set is a complete electrical warning unit specifically designed to provide visual and aural message/warning though pilot's earphones or control panel indicating an approach to and departure from a preselected flight level. The operation range is 0 to 59,900 feet in 100-foot increments.
