- Description
- This effort is for the development and facilitation of workshops focused on Logistics Engineering for the Engineering Directorate of the Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center. It also includes the development of Logistics Engineering metrics, training development, and engineering project support. Task 1: Logistics Engineering Workshops: NC A&T State will develop and facilitate three workshops/advisory councils to be held at in Huntsville, Alabama (or alternative site visit). The workshops shall be scheduled in coordination with the AMRDEC contract technical representative. The contractor shall provide all handout materials in accordance with (IA W) DIILSS- 80872 required for the workshops. The workshops shall: • Serve as process analysis resource for existing logistics engineering efforts. • Assist with logistics engineering research capability within AMRDEC to investigate, develop, and test new logistics technologies and methodologies. • Further identify and develop logistics engineering and sustainment activities throughout the DoD Life Cycle. • Support Logistics Engineering team development. • NC A&T State shall conduct one training session/class related to Logistics Engineering as part of these workshops. The training shall focus on the practical application of logistics engineering tools and skills that will be necessary for Logistics Engineers to utilize within the PM environment. Task 2: Logistics Engineering Education Delivery: NC A&T State will work with the AMRDEC Logistics Engineering team to identify training gaps and conduct analysis of training courses to fill those gaps. The contractor shall provide at least one training/class related to Logistics Engineering for use in the training of logistics engineers. The topics, dates, duration and location of the course(s) will be coordinated and approved by the AMRDEC. The contractor will deliver all training/course materials IA W DIILSS- 80872. Task 3: Logistics Engineering Maintenance Data and Metrics Development: NC A&T State University will extend prior metrics work to consider real time maintenance data analysis, compression, mining and transmission. This includes research to determine: • What data analysis, compression, transmission techniques are available to reduce the complex CBM data streams to real time "useable" information for the field maintenance technician. • How such techniques might be included in the design of future vertical lift capability.Task 4: Future Lift Application of Logistics Engineering: The contractor shall provide engineering support and analysis to investigate the application of the following logistics engineering principles for Future Vertical Lift: • Rapid changeover and design for maintainability - use of Pit Stop techniques, impact on commonality, impact on sustainment, key design principles, and contracting implications. • Use of modularity - opportunities for inclusion on Future Vertical Lift, impact on sustainment, cross-platform standardization, and contracting implications. DELIVERABLES: Project deliverables include: • Workshop meeting notes and recommendations • All educational materials • Update version of previously developed documents • Documentation from project assistance SECURITY. Contractor task efforts shall not require access to classified information. A firm fixed price purchase order is anticipated. The proposed acquisition will be restricted to North Carolina A&T Stat University, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. The period of performance will consist of 12 months from date of award. In accordance with FAR 5.203(a)(1) this synopsis will be posted for 3 days. Synopsis response will only be accepted electronically. Responses maybe sent to Pamela.n.meenen.civ@mail.mil and terrance.l.jennings.civ@mail.mil. Telephone inquiries and/or responses will not be accepted. Contracting Office Address: BLDG 5303 SPARKMAN CIR Redstone Arsenal, Alabama 35898-5090 United States
