Description
Sole Source Justification Document The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS) intends to award a Purchase Order to Hudson Robotics, Inc. at 10 Stern Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081-2905, for the purchase of an automated Pipettor System with FilterPress for use at NIEHS at the Research Triangle Park campus. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the business size standard is 1,000 employees. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. It has been determined that Hudson Robotics, Inc. is the only known responsible source capable of providing the required supplies and no other supplies will satisfy the agency's requirements. The purpose of this Purchase Order is to procure an automated Pipettor System with FilterPress. The Hudson Robotics System has a small size footprint, which can fit on a lab benchtop, the ability to use multiple heads, and pipette solutions from low microliter up to 1 milliliter, and its unique Filterpress. The Filterpress will allow NIEHS to complete detergent screen, inclusion body preps and protein solubility checks without having to move the solutions into microfuge tubes for clarification. The system shall include: the ability to handle volumes up to 1 ml, work with both plates and individual tubes up to 50 mls, and shall have a way to handle clarifying liquid samples that include cell lysates, inclusion bodies, and detergent samples and filter press to handle these samples without having to move the solutions into microfuge tubes for clarification. This notice of intent is not a solicitation or request for quotes. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting NIEHS' requirement, as stated herein, may submit their corporate capabilities, which, if received by the response date of this announcement, may be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing and shall be emailed to Teresa McCall at teresa.mccall@nih.gov and are due by 4:30PM ET on September 14, 2016. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
