Description

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101(a)(2) requiring dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. The US Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground - Installation Contracting Division, 6001 Combat Drive, Aberdeen, Maryland, 21005 has a requirement to procure the following: To provide a custom USC-26 Radio Frequency Shielded Enclosure The proposed system will provide an attenuation of 100 dB to electric fields and plane waves from 14 KHz to 10 GHz and 50 dB to magnetic fields at 14 KHz rising to 90 dB at 200 KHz when tested in accordance with MIL-STD-285. 1. The chamber is built using a proprietary radio frequency (RF)/ electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding design (USC-26) to ensure that radio frequency leaks do not occur and that the RF/EMI attenuation provided by the structure will meet or exceed our testing specifications. This design is proprietary and is therefore owned by one contractor. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price sole source contract to Total Solutions. The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 332311 and the Business Size Standard is 750 Employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 1:00 PM Eastern Time, Thursday, September 15, 2016. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
