- Description
- Invitation 1. The F-15 Program Office is hosting an Industry Day on 13 October 2016 at Robins Air Force Base, GA, to solicit feedback from interested industry representatives regarding an initiative by the F-15 SPO to acquire wing replacement sets for 235 F-15C/D aircraft. The government owns the technical baseline for the wing and is interested in competing multiple vendor options, to include foreign contractors. Objective(s): •· Design shall be based on the F-15E production wing. •· Replacement wing shall be capable of flying 14 years at current worst usage severity prior to first depot level inspection, with a minimum of 7 years flying time between recurring depot inspections afterwards. •· The design shall maintain the original mold line and existing fuselage interfaces. •· The design shall maintain compatibility with the original aerodynamic and structural properties. •· Wing re-design is required to show airworthiness compliance in accordance with MIL-HDBK-516 without additional full scale durability testing. •· Shall be compatible with all existing aircraft and weapons systems to include fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and environment control systems. •· Provide complete technical documentation and computer modeling for replacement wings. 2. We welcome collaboration with industry to critically review our requirements and discuss mutual issues and concerns relative to our technical requirements and acquisition strategy approach. A draft Performance Work Statement, proposed schedule, and specific questions to contractors will be posted on FedBizOpps at a later date. On the morning of the first day, we will convene an open session for general discussion on issues and concerns. That afternoon we will schedule one-on-one sessions with each vendor interested in discussing specific issues and concerns relative to their company's interests. These closed-door sessions are planned to last 30 minutes. Each vendor will be allowed 10 minutes of presentation time or they may spend their time posing questions to the government. The remaining 20 minutes will be allocated for government personnel to direct questions to the vendor. Sessions will be scheduled on a first come-first-served basis. Actual duration and timing of one-on-one sessions are subject to change in the time leading up to Industry Day. 3. If your company is interested in participating in the subject Industry Day, please contact Captain Christopher Ricks at christopher.ricks.3@us.af.mil and tyler.beal.1@us.af.mil no later than 29 September 2016. Detailed information on the Industry Day venue (will be located off-base) and associated information regarding parking and local area information will be sent to those that respond to this announcement. Due to the expected level of interest in the program, we are limiting company participation to just three representatives each. For those unable to attend in person, conference call capabilities are available and details can be sent to those interested.
