Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, LSC VA Medical Center intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Smith's Medical for the SurgiVet, Advisor Vital Signs Monitor System. The SurgiVet System will be used for cat surgery protocols where the animals are maintained under anesthesia for up to 36 hours. The SurgiVet system is the only animal surgical monitor with non-problematic CO2 sampling. Additionally, the exclusive advanced pneumatics that control the auto occlusion detection and clearing system in the advisor limiting monitoring disruptions, like sample line and filter changes during surgery. In conjunction with the external water trap the Advisor performs superior during high humidity applications. The SurgiVet includes non-proprietary sample lines in various lengths and styles to reduce operating costs, Veterinary specific NIBP - SunTech Technology, purple cuffs with 360o bladder to help eliminate cuff alignment issues on patient and allows fewer cuff sizes to accommodate various patient sizes, Pulse Oximetry - Patented Serial Auto-Correlation (SAC) for digital technology accuracy. Smith's Medical's, the manufacturer of the SurgiVet monitor, is the only animal surgical monitor that has the above parameters and meets the needs of this highly specialized surgery required without a Veterinary license. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Wednesday, September 13th, 12:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
