- Description
- IGF::OT::IGF PFO ROAD GRADING CONTRACT This amendment is to address questions asked during the site tour or changes made by the government. Change made by the Government, The upper 2 miles of the Wood Canyon Road will be removed from the contract due to safety concerns (steep slope, narrow road). The project still includes 20 miles of grading. Please see attachments with revised maps. Question 1., Contract refers to 95% compaction, but there are no specs. Answer, The statement of work referred to compaction in 2 places, they have been removed and annotated. Question 2., Do we have to dig potholes down to the bottom. Answer, No, blade smooth to the top of the pothole so the entire road surface is smooth. Blading t the bottom of potholes would result in too much material removal. Question 3., Is a water truck required? Answer, Only if needed to fulfill the contract. Weather conditions (rain) should provide a reasonable window for adequate soil condition in the fall and/or spring without the use of a water truck, but re lying on the weather condition is a risk that you will have to take. Question 4., Performance period as stated in Section F. The vendor needs to be prepared to start the contract within 5 days of when the Notice to Proceed is issued. The government estimates this to be a 8 day project with up to 10 seasonal delay days making the total 18 days. The contract period of performance shows 9/26/16 to 5/31/17. The government wants this project completed this fall unless weather permits it. If it can't be completed (too wet or frozen) this fall then the contract will be completed next spring once the conditions are acceptable. Question 5., Do we have to maintain all roads to 14'. Answer, Contractor shall ensure that the travelway width remains the same or wider post-maintenance.
