Description

The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific at Tripler Army Medical, Hawaii intends to award a sole source to Government Scientific Source, Inc. (GSS) for Leica Biosystems TP1020 VF/accessory. The protocols must be finished with the same equipment in order to ensure validity with previously collected data. This Leica Biosystems TP1020 are the only ones compatible with existing government-owned equipment. GSS is the sole distributor of this item. The statutory authority permitting this award without providing for full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 1901, as cited in FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
