- This is a MARKET SURVEY / SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE, pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research). This is not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. REQUIREMENT: The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Surface Forces Logistics Center has a requirement for the manufacture and repair of propulsion shafts for the USCG 87' WPB class cutter (NSN: 2010-01-485-9175). The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, services, equipment, supplies, power, accessories, facilities and such other things as are necessary, except as otherwise specified in the solicitation, to (1) manufacture and (2) repair propulsion shafts, in accordance with the solicitation and attached specifications. All shafts will be manufactured or repaired in accordance with the specification entitled: USCG WPB-87 Specification Propulsion Shaft Purchase & Repair, P-243-00618 (05/2011), Revision A (8/6/2014). All manufacturing and testing will take place at the contractor's facility. The solicitation will be 100% set-aside for small business. Period of Performance: It is anticipated that one firm, fixed-price, requirements contract for one (1) base year and four (4) option years will be awarded for this requirement. Estimated quantities per year will be specified in the solicitation. The solicitation package will be available for downloading from FedBizOpps at www.fbo.gov on or about 12/03/2016. Be advised that this date is estimated at best, and it is the contractor's responsibility to check FedBizOpps regularly for release of the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS Code for this solicitation is 811310 (Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance), and the size standard for small business is $7.5M. Submission of Information: If you intend to submit information / documentation on this acquisition, please respond e-mail by October 4, 2016 at 4:00 PM EST to: erika.r.wallace@uscg.mil The following information / documentation must be included in your response: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a quote for this solicitation as a prime contractor, to include: Name of Company, Address, DUNS Number, Point of Contact and Phone Number, Business Size for the applicable NAICS Code and, if applicable, your Small Business Status along with a copy of the Certificate from the Small Business Administration (SBA) certifying the company's small business status, and (b) evidence of experience in supplying the required items to include: Contract Numbers, Project Titles and Dollar Amounts, Points of Contact and Telephone Numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made for a small business set-aside. The solicitation for this procurement indicating whether this will be pursued as a small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted at www.fbo.gov.
