Description
The United States Coast Guard has a requirement to purchase a Heavy Duty Pushback Tow Vehicle that will be utilized to transer vessels and docking cradles around the berthing areas ranging in overall weight from 680-2000 long tons. The following salient characteristics are required: 3.1 Dimensions and Weight. - Gross vehicle weight of 120,000lbs including ballast. - Length between 285 and 327 inches (including hitches). - Width between 110 to 117 inches wide. - Height not to exceed 81.5 inches. - Maximum draw bar pull of not less than 78,000 lbs. 3.2 Engine. - Certified Tier 4 Diesel Engine 3.3 Transmission. - Torque Converter/Power Shift - At least 4 speed forward and 2 speed reverse - Electronic Down Shift Inhibitor. 3.3.1 Axles. - Front and rear axles to be planetary-drive steering with high traction differential - Rigid front axle suspension. Rear axle trunnion suspension. - 16.00/25 tires 3.3.2 Steering. - Hydraulic powered steering with 24V DC motor driven hydraulic pump emergency steering. - Three mode steering; Front two wheel, four wheel coordinated, or four wheel crab. 3.4 Brakes. - Hydraulically powered; four wheel disc braking system with dual accumulator backup. - Parking brake spring applied calipers, hydraulically released on each axle pinion. 3.5 Tow Hitch. - Located front and rear at a height of approximately 16 inches above the ground. - 2.5 inch diameter hitch pin. 3.6 Coatings. - Zinc rich primer coat. - Protective undercoating - White final coat. 3.7 Features. - Enclosed raised (non-elevating) cab. - Grammer GS-12 (or equal) Driver and Passenger seat. - Two man padded passenger bench seating. - Heater-defroster. -Dome light. - Front windshield wipers and washers. - Two ventilating fans in front cab. - Integral Hydraulic Jacking System. - Low profile front and rear hitch mirrors. - Rear view camera and monitor. - Front and rear LED hitch lights. - Rotating amber LED Beacon on top of cab.
