Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8 (NCO 8) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(2)(b) intends to issue a sole source award to Karl Storz Endoscopy-America, Inc., 2151 Grand Avenue, El Segundo, CA, 90245 for the upgrade of existing video gastroscopes currently in use located at the Miami VA Medical Center, 1201 N.W. 16th Street, Miami, FL 33125. The NAICS code that applies to this procurement is 334510; the small business size standard is 1,250 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within 5 calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is not a formal solicitation. This notice is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. The closing date for this synopsis is September 20, 2016 at 12 noon EST. The Government reserves the right to execute an award without publishing a solicitation. All responses must be submitted to susan.griffin2@va.gov no later than September 20, 2016 at noon EST.
