Description
*The health care services to be procured in this acquisition represent a continuing, statutorily defined requirement. TRICARE Health Care Programs, including the benefit structure and required administrative functions, are codified at Chapter 55 of Title 10, United States Code (U.S.C.), and Title 32, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 199. The Department of Defense (DoD) is responsible for administration of medical, dental, and pharmacy programs that provide health care to active duty, active duty family members, and retired military members and their families, as well as family member survivors. In order to fulfill this responsibility, DoD provides health care directly through military treatment facilities reimburses for the care furnished by private sector health care providers. This acquisition is to purchase health care support services and for the integration of that private sector care with the DoD direct care system. The total eligible non-overseas population in the United States is approximately 9.2 million beneficiaries. *This contract, HT9402-16-C-0002, was awarded off of solicitation HT9402-15-R-0002. The contract base period of performance (transition-in) is 01 August 2016 through 30 April 2017. There are five - one-year option periods continuing through 30 April 2022, a one year phase-out period which follows the last exercised period of performance and the potential for a six month extension pursuant to FAR 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services. Total estimated value of the contract, including the base, five - one-year option periods, one year phase-out and the potential six month extension is estimated at $17,724,798,838. Mr. William H. Coffenberry is the Contracting Officer and the DHA, Aurora, CO 80011, is the contracting activity (HT9402).
