Description
Womack Army Medical (WAMC) Center requires the services of a professional medical specialty consulting and training firm accredited through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to evaluate, analyze, present a Report of Recommendations and a Collaborative Implementation Plan for various departments that provide patient triage. ANCC certification is required. The firm selected shall evaluate and present processes and procedures for acceptance by the WAMC leadership. Once recommendation report and implementation plan are accepted, the contractor shall prepare training workbooks for face-to-face on-site (WAMC) formal training workshops and on-line training and testing for WAMC staff i.e. providers, nurses, medics, and medical support assistants for team comprehension and culture change. WAMC requires contractor assistance with implementation of new triage processes and procedures after completion of training. The training shall include 2-day comprehensive training including triage acuity categorization and disposition, process and practice; registration process; review of forms, policies, guidelines, and protocols; staff assignments, practices; documentation practice; patient flow; safety issues; leadership and teamwork issues; COBRA/EMTALA and Joint Commission requirements. The contractor is to identify environmental forces that encourage or impede efforts to improve quality, develop strategies for fostering greater accountability for quality, and identify important areas that should be pursued to facilitate improvements in triage quality. The training will consist of both on-line and on-site consulting for the agency in order to sustain training, educational and coaching for WAMC patient triage areas.
