Description
This system will be self-contained and not connected to a network with internet access. The device that receives all of the data will be hard-wired to a stand-alone computer. Anything requiring a server will not meet the government's need. The computer will run the software relating to the temperature data; therefore, it is a requirement that the software run without internet access. This system will also be connected to an analog phone line that notifies users of excursions; therefore, it is a requirement that the software be able to place phone calls over an analog phone line. Although the phone line in place now is analog, it is possible that in the future the government may switch to a digital phone line. For that reason, the system must also have the capability to place phone calls over a digital/VoIP phone line. The communication between the temperature probes and the device(s) that receive(s) this information must be self-contained and not require connection to the government wifi network. For example, a wired network, or a secured 418MHz or 900 MHz wireless network would be sufficient. 19 temperature probes are currently required, however the system must be able to be expanded to at least 50 probes if necessary. The new close date for this solicitation is 22 September 2016 at 9 a.m. local San Antonio, TX time.
