- Description
- This is a Construction project intended to perform repairs at Wharf C1. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, and other incidental work required to complete this project. Other incidental work required includes any and all items necessary to ensure a complete, usable and maintainable final product including the demolition work not specifically stated elsewhere in this Statement of Work (SOW). Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1.The report titled Site Visit Report, Vessel Impact at wharf C1 describes Wharf damage and provides site pictures. 2.Replace wale beam from free end at the southwestern corner of the wharf and extending two feet past the last cracked portion. The new wale beam shall match the existing. 3.Replace sea pile attachment brackets and bolts as needed. The hardware shall match the record drawing sheet # S-506. 4.Adjust top of pile to bring it back in round using straps or bands. Tremie pour 4,000 psi concrete from the mud line to the top of the pile and allow concrete to cure for a minimum of 7 days before removing bands. 5.Repair concrete bullrails by saw cutting down one inch into the concrete approximately 6 inches past the observed damaged area. Remove concrete to one inch behind the reinforcement and remove loose concrete from the reinforcement. Any reinforcement that has damage to the coating shall be repaired prior to placement of concrete. Form the bullrails and place 6,000 psi concrete with a corrosion inhibiting admixture. Ensure proper placement and curing of the patched area. 6.If using a vessel, the Contractor and crew will have to be briefed once by Bob Reeder, B-2078, 3rd floor, prior to putting a vessel in the water for the first time. Contractor can use the boat ramp in front of B-2078 for trailer able vessels; the vessel shall be removed from the water at the end of each work day but can be left on site by Harbor Ops overnight. Contractor is responsible for securing vessel, equipment, and materials if stored on Government property. The Government shall not be held responsible for any losses. If a vessel is too large to be trailered and has to enter from the river then the vessel will be inspected by K-9, Military Police, etc. Once in the basin a berthing can be provided for the duration of the project.
