- This project is for the replacement of the Visual Approach Slope Indicator (VASI) with a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) System for Runway 13 at Quincy Municipal Airport, Quincy, Illinois. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to perform the project in accordance with the contract clauses, drawings, and specifications. The project work includes, but not limited to, the following: 1. Construction of reinforced concrete foundation for PAPI Lamp Housing Assembly (LHA) and equipment racks. Steel screw anchor foundations shall not be used for PAPI LHA foundations. 2. Construction of perimeter earth electrode system (EES) around PAPI LHAs and equipment rack. 3. Installation of PAPI LHAs on reinforced concrete foundations. 4. Installation of power and control conductors from PAPI Power and Control Unit (PCU) to PAPI LHAs in PVC conduit. All power and control cables shall be tested for continuity and insulation integrity after installation in the presence of the COR and SSC technician. 5. Construction of PAPI equipment rack outside RSA per contract drawings. 6. Construction of PAPI power service rack per contract drawing. 7. Installation of Remote Control system for the PAPI shall be established per contract drawings. 8. Construction of crushed rock plot around PAPI LHAs, and equipment rack. 9. Demonstration by contractor that PAPI will operate normally on local control and testing of photocell. 10. Aiming of the PAPI LHAs per Technical Instruction Manual furnished with equipment and labeling of the LHAs per the contract drawings. 11. Removal of existing VASI equipment being replaced. Any FAA-owned equipment to be removed or replaced shall be delivered to the local FAA SSC representatives through the COR or disposed of by the contractor. All foundations shall be removed completely. 12. Restore and seed any turf areas disturbed by construction. 13. Flight check, to be conducted and scheduled by FAA. 14. Participate in Contractor ™s Acceptance Inspection (CAI), and quickly address any punch list items. CAI may be conducted in conjunction with Joint Acceptance Inspection (JAI) with the SSC office. The solicitation number for this requirement is DTFASA-17-R-00045. Anticipated start date of project is Spring 2017. Contract performance time is 20 working days. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK AT AN OPERATIONAL AIRPORT.
