Description
Med/Surg Bed Statement of Work Scope of Work. General The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 4 Network Contracting Office (NCO), on behalf of the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center is procuring hospital beds medical surgery / critical care unit. The bed will have hi-lo capabilities. Quotes shall conform to the requirements described in in this Statement of Work (SOW). No refurbished, used items or partial quantities will be accepted. The contractor shall provide 211 Med Surg hospital beds that have hi-lo capabilities, built in scales, fall alarms, compatible with our call light system, variable mattress pressures/Isotoner gel mattress, and easily converts to allow passage through doorways. The contractor shall perform the requirements in this SOW and conform to the professional standards identified in this solicitation/SOW. The contractor shall follow all applicable instructions and directives as identified by this SOW. Operational Requirements and Specific Tasks Hospital bed system to be ultimately used across continuum of care in Med-Surg, Critical Care, Medicine and Same Day Surgery and is to be compatible with current nurse call systems already in use in the hospital. Contractor personnel will provide training on the use of the bed to include cleaning it, at no additional charge. Turn in of up to 211 beds to be coordinated to include a delivery schedule/staging area worked out to accomplish this by September 2016. Minimum Product Specifications Med/Surg bed construction: Standard Features *o Integrated pump holder and 110V outlets on frames *o Central brake *o Downward motion interrupt to prevent sliding/keeps body position unchanged while head of bed is raised *o iBed awareness allows for ease in setting custom safety configurations *o CPR release and removable headboard *o Three-sided bed motion controls *o One-button cardiac chair position *o Foot end lock-out controls *o Intermediate Support position handrail for safe patient entry and exit *o Night light *o Maximum lowest height of 9" surface platform to floor to reduce patient injury intensity *o Minimum lowest height of 35" from surface platform to floor *o WiFi connectivity that allows integration with nurse call and bed monitoring software *o One-touch scale *o Stay put bed frame/bed position options, bed exit alarms *o Low air loss mattress that assists w/managing pressure, shear and microclimate and redistributes pressure by buckling and absorbing weight allowing immersion *o Warranty on bed frame and mattress/surface *o Training provided free of charge Additional Specifications *o Centrally-located brake pedal - must be able to roll at any height *o 4-wheel, steel brake with swivel lock system *o Must have safe working load not to exceed 500 Ibs weight capacity with this marked clearly on the frame. *o One-hand, intermediate side rails *o Four IV pole and traction *o Steer control *o Trapeze adapters *o Bed extenders to lengthen bed for very tall patients up to 90" *o Air pumps to be used, if needed Work Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 - 3:30 M-Friday. No Weekend work or overtime is included in this scope of work. Education Contractor shall establish an education plan for staff, which includes clinical training and educational content. The contractor shall provide all technical training required to operate the Bariatric beds, such that the VA can fully utilize the equipment. All employees of the contractor and subcontractors shall comply with the VA security management program and obtain permission of the VA Police, be identified by project and employer, and restricted from unauthorized access.
