Solicitation/Synopsis Provisions and Clauses Drawing 901-WMEC-612-004, Sheet 7 of 7 Drawing 901-WMEC-612-004, Sheet 6 of 7 Drawing 901-WMEC-612-004, Sheet 5 of 7 Drawing 901-WMEC-612-004, Sheet 4 of 7 Drawing 901-WMEC-612-004, Sheet 3 of 7 Drawing 901-WMEC-612-004, Sheet 2 of 7 Drawing 901-WMEC-612-004, Sheet 1 of 7 New or replacement deck edge protection shall be IAW with the attached U.S.C.G. drawings. Deck edge safety nets shall be installed around exposed boundaries where liferails or lifelines would interfere with deck or aircraft operation. Deck edge safety nets shall be hinged or fixed according to the level or operation required. Where hinged deck edge safety nets are used as lifelines in their ″up″ position, they shall meet the height above the deck requirements for lifelines. Wherever lifelines, liferails and safety nets are installed adjacent to one another, the safety net shall either overlap the area protected by lifelines or liferails by a minimum of 0.914 m (3 ft.) or else the space between the lowered safety net frames and liferails or lifelines shall be fitted with sections of safety netting. Safety nets shall be in compliance with drawing, NAVSEA 803-5000902 for the CRES netting, drawing, NAVSEA 803-5184097 for the nylon netting. 600-18.4.4.1 Deck Edge Safety Nets Testing. Test steel, CRES, and aluminum frames and nylon/CRES nets and filler nets after installation. All loads shall be applied independently.
