- The purpose of this Sources Sought / Market Research is to identify potential sources capable of providing Horiba X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzer, model SLFA-20. This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity. Existing unique design capability and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source requires acquisition of the part from the approved source. The approved source retains data rights, manufacturing knowledge and technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures, as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. The qualification procedures must be approved by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part in the intended application. Vendors who wish to become a qualified source shall provide a capabilities statement. No telephone requests will be accepted. This is a market survey for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a Request for Quote or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a purchase order on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. Rock Island Arsenal will only utilize the information you provide in developing its acquisition approach for future requirements
