- Description
- J&A 14-23754 for Armored Energy Absorbing Crew Seats for H-1 Upgrades Aircraft The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a firm fixed price modification to contract N00019-15-C-0107 to BAE Systems Aerospace and Defense Group Inc (BAE) for the acquisition of Armored Energy-Absorbing Crew Seats (AEACS) in support of the UH-1Y Utility and AH-1Z Attack helicopters. The modification includes one base year and 3 option years covering seats for the Lot 13 through 16 and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) aircraft. This requirement was procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than Full and Open Competition under 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency's requirements. BAE is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the H-1 AEACS and is the only known source that possesses the engineering data, technical skills, and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, operation, maintenance, and support characteristics necessary to provide the AEACS. This notice of award is not a request for competitive proposals.
