Description
Purchase of a Zetasizer Nano Instrument to measure zeta potential of particulate suspensions and chemical solutions. The Government requires one (1) Bench Top Instrument (manufacturer's item number: ZS90) to measure zeta potential of particulate suspensions and chemical solutions that meets the following characteristics: Requirements of above equipment: • Capability to measure colloidal particles in a wet dispersion o Measurable diameter size from 0.3nm to 10 microns. o At least +/-2% accuracy and precision. o Less than 15µL sample size. o Uses technique of diffusion of particles moving under Brownian motion, and converts to size and a size distribution using the Stokes-Einstein relationship. • Capability of measurement of zeta potential of colloids and nanoparticles o Less than 10nm particle diameter measurement capability. o Accuracy of 0.12µm.cm/V.s for aqueous systems. o Zeta potential range of +/- 500mV. o Measurement method using electrophoretic light scattering. o Ability to measure calculation of electrophoretic mobility, zeta potential, and zeta potential distribution. • Sample concentrations o Ranging from low concentration of 0.1ppm to a high • Concentration of 40%w/v • Temperature control for measurements o Capable of temperatures up to 90°C o Temperature accuracy of +/-0.1°C • Molecular weight measurement down to 980Da o Technique using static light scattering using Debye plot. o Accuracy of +/- 10% • Protein size measurement o Dilute as 0.1mg/mL No characteristics
