Description: The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD), Indian Head, Maryland is requesting information on underwater imaging and navigation systems. The STRIDENT is a one person-portable/deployable Diver Handheld Unit and ancillary equipment that provides underwater communication, navigation and sonar capabilities to a diver. This integrated system should provide Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians the ability to be operated independently in navigation mode, sensor mode or an integrated navigation/sensor mode; record data, image, location, and depth. The diver should be able to operate the system with one hand, and while using cold water gloves. The system must be neutral buoyancy and capable to function to a max depth of 300 feet of sea water (FSW). This market survey solicits vendors' information that fully explains their technology's features, capabilities, and performance. Commercial, non-developmental, and developmental systems may be included in the information provided. However, developmental systems shall be available within approximately five years from this RFI publication date. NOTE: The Government is requesting submissions for all systems, even those systems that do not meet or have not been tested for all of the listed requirements especially the low magnetic signature requirement. The Government is interested in the state of technology for all handheld sonar and navigation systems including systems in development and those systems that do not currently meet the requirements listed below, including the low magnetic signature requirement. See attached package for further details of RFI and submission requirements.
