Request for Information/Market Survey MIL-PRF-62550E Heater Information DESCRIPTION OF INTENT: THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI), A MARKET SURVEY REQUEST IN SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING STUDY. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, nor is it a request seeking Offerors to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. Response to this survey is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey and any follow-up information requests. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. STUDY: The U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) is conducting a market survey to identify the availability of a manufacturer willing to produce a MIL-PRF-62550E Class II heater. In addition TARDEC is interested in any alternatives to a MIL-PRF-62550E Class II heater, which may not fully meet the MIL-PRF-62550E specification in size, weight, power or performance by a quantifiable amount. Is the product(s) currently fielded on any US or foreign military vehicles? 3. If yes, which ones? 4. What types of tests have been conducted on the product? 5. Has any standard performance specification testing been completed on the product (e.g. OEM-specific, SAE, ASTM, etc...)? If standard performance specification testing has been completed, please list the specification(s). 6. Does your product meet MIL-PRF-62550E Class II? 7. If yes, would you be interested in qualifying to MIL-PRF-62550E Class II? 8. If no, what aspects of the standard are not met? 9. Please provide information on those aspects that are not met. 10. For those aspects that are not met would you be interested in working with the Government to make the product meet MIL-PRF-62550E? Section b. Marketing Information 1. All information provided will be handled and treated as "company proprietary information" and shall not be given to another manufacturer, distributor, blender, or any other company.
