Description
THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. The Defense Logistics Agency, DLA Maritime Norfolk Contracting Division, is conducting market research for potential sources for STRAINER ASSEMBLY to be delivered to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia. The following is a basic description of the requirement: DESCRIPTION: 12" 250# STRAINER ASSEMBLY STRAINER BODY (HOUSING) AND ACCESS COVERS CASTED, MACHINED AND HYDRO TESTED IAW DWG 7434802 ITEM NO. AY99. MFG BY GENERAL AND TEST NOTES AND INFO THERE ON, ORDERING DATA IN GENERAL NOTE 43 (A THRU P), OF ABOVE DRAWING, TEST TO BE IAW TEST NOTE T-3 All interested vendors are invited to provide information to contribute to this Notice including commercial market information. Technical questions will not be entertained at this time. Please respond only to the requested information and questions 1-9 below (This may be 1-8 if you delete question #7). The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (Service Disabled/Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB/VOSB), HUBZone, 8 (a), small, small disadvantage, woman owned small business or large business) relative to NAICS 334511, electronic computer manufacturing, automatic data processing systems: industrial, scientific, and office types. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on the FBO website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought announcement. 1) Is your business large or small? 2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emerging business, or small disadvantaged business? 3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and if your firm is certified under Section 8 (a) of the Small Business Act? 4) Is your firm a certified HUBZone firm? 5) Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? 6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small or veteran owned small business? 7) Would allowing pricing for shipment to different location "ZONES" have any effect on the pricing your company can offer? Should the Government include "ZONES" in the solicitation? There will be two (2) ZONES; an East Coast and West Coast Zone. (I don't think you need this. The weights will be shipped to NNSY and I don't see any evidence of multiple ship-to addresses.) 8) Include the DUNS number and Cage Code of your firm. 9) Is your firm registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov 10) If not, please register. NOTE: No award can be made to a contractor who is not registered in SAM. All interested parties who consider themselves qualified to meet the above requirements are invited to submit a response to this Sources Sought Notice at trellis.1.harris@dla.mil ( trellis.THE#ONE.harris@dla.mil ). THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION, OR SOURCES SOUGHT, AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS OR OFFERS. VENDORS RESPONDING TO THIS NOTICE WILL NOT BE ENTITLED TO PAYMENT OF DIRECT OR INDIRECT COSTS.
