- SCOPE OF WORK The contractor shall provide all of the following, including but not limited to, equipment and identified seed mix, and certified weed-free straw by the Arizona Crop Improvement Association with proven documentation, ground crew to disperse straw, loading equipment, safety equipment, transportation, lodging and meals for contractor personnel. Contractor shall provide all incidentals to complete this work. In support of the Burned Area Emergency Response Plan (BAER) the Tonto National Forest has a requirement for the seeding and mulching of approximately 475 acres of high severity burned area on the Juniper Fire. Seeding shall be applied at 20 pure live seeds per square-foot with the seed mix consisting of Cereal barley, Sideoats Grama, Blue Grama and Western Wheat. Mulch shall be applied at the rate of 1 ton per acre with approximately 1 inch thickness. Both the seed and mulch must be certified weed free. The seed should be applied before the mulch. The awarded contractor shall provide all necessary seed, mulch, labor, supplies and equipment necessary to complete the work. Contractor is responsible for all seed mixing/loading and mulch loading operations and movement of straw mulch in and around the area of operations.
