- Description
- LSJ for the extension of MS Consulting Services support at the DOJ. The Department intends to modify Task Order DJJ08-F-1681 for Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) to extend the term of the order for a period of up to six (6) months. The modification, which will extend the task order expiration date from September 30, 2016 to December 31, 2016, and include one additional option period of three (3) months, will ensure continuity of mission critical services until the follow-on contract is awarded. Task Order DJJ08-F-1681 was awarded to InfoReliance Corporation on May 15, 2008 using competitive procedures under the General Services Administration Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) program. The order was originally valued at $17 million and was scheduled to expire on May 14, 2013. At that time, it was extended for six months to November 14, 2013, and then extended for an additional six months to May 14, 2014, due to unanticipated delays encountered by the Government's acquisition team responsible for conducting the planned competitive procurement action for the follow-on contract. The DOJ was unable to award a follow-on contract during this time due to severe staffing shortages, so the task order was extended an additional seven months to December 2014 and then an additional twelve months in December 2014 to December 31, 2015. During this period, the Department decided to consolidate the re-competitions for several MCS contracts into a single procurement action. This resulted in a substantial shift in the acquisition strategy, so the InfoReliance task order was again extended for a twelve month period in December 2015 to afford the DOJ enough time to conduct the follow-on procurement. This follow-on procurement is nearly complete and will result in the award of a family of indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts. A three (3) month extension of the current task order, with an option period of three (3) months, is necessary should the DOJ encounter additional delays in the award of the contract and to accommodate an adequate transition period to transfer work from the current task order through Fair Opportunity competitions under the new MCS IDIQ contracts.
