- The FAA intends to solicit Flight Safety International as the single source for acquisition of Emergency Evacuation and Survival Equipment familiarization (FAA Course No. 28443). The course satisfies the training requirements for FAA Airworthiness and Operations Inspectors. An Indefinite Quantity contract is anticipated with fixed prices per course. The training schedule will begin Nov. 2016. The total estimated value is $1,976,764 for the 12 classes (estimated) per year. The total cost represents the base year and three (3) one-year option years. IAW AMS 3.2.2.4 the FAA may contract for single source when in the FAA ™s best interest. The rational basis is their unique capability to deliver the course IAW regulatory requirements and within the schedule requirements. The FAA Statement of work describes the specialized training for Airworthiness and Operations Inspectors and the course is applicable to aircraft emergency evacuation procedures. Flight Safety International has customized their commercial training to meet FAA regulatory training requirements for Aircraft and Survival Equipment. Acquiring the training service from Flight Safety International represents the best interest of the government based on the requirements for the Instruction platform and scheduling requirements.
